One of my brothers posted a picture on Facebook saying, “We pay the doctor to make us better when we should really be paying the farmer to keep us healthy.” A corollary of this should be, “Junk food is poison.” You would think that at my age I would have this figured out, but every once in a while I have to remind myself.
Yesterday, I ate a lot of junk food, cookies, candy bars, potato chips, etc. This morning, when I woke up, I did not feel well. I was sluggish and had a slight headache. I’m pretty sure it was all the junk food I ate yesterday. Since I had taken two rest days already, I had to get on the road.
I am done with the Rockies. Today’s ride was through farm land with rolling hills. Compared to the mountains, it was very easy.
Despite how easy the ride was, I only road 36 miles. I had hoped to get into Utah, but didn’t quite make it. I ended up stopping mid-afternoon in Dove Creek. Still in Colorado, at least for one more day. I knew Colorado would take a long time to get through. I entered in the northeast and will leave in the southwest. That, combined with the Rockies, made it a long state. Including the three days I spent visiting my sister, I have been in Colorado nearly a month.
Hadn’t realized you were in Colorado that long.

He has less than 1000 miles to go, Roberta. In another month give or take, a lot of us will be adjusting.

Concerning your junk food symptoms. I recently reread Sugar Blues, circa 1975. Nasty stuff!
